Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,

Thank you for your overwhelming response to the first circular for the 17th Congress of the European Anthropological Association. This second circular includes information concerning an updated version of the conference topics and guidelines for abstract submission. There is also information on the AMU student hostel JOWITA and some reminders of the conference fee and payment.

Abstract guidelines and submission deadline

The required Abstract format

General Information


  • Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words with single line and normal character spacing in 12pt Times New Roman font.
  • The abstract must be written in English.
  • Each abstract should contain the following information:

Paper title
First and last name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s)
Body of abstract: purpose of the study, methods used, summary of the results and conclusion reached
5 keywords or less.

  • Please do not paste tables, graphs, charts, formulas etc. in the abstract body.
  • References must not be included in the abstract.
  • Use standard abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears, if necessary.
  • Abstracts will be published as submitted. Proof and edit your submission accordingly.

 

 

  • Abstracts must be received no later than     May 15, 2010 and preceded by payment of a registration fee.
  • The presenting author must pay the registration fee and attend the meeting.
  • The electronic submission procedure is required. In order to do it, you have to register as a participant of the conference, and if already done, log in to your Profile, indicate your preferred type of presentation and specify one of the themes listed to indicate the preferred assignment to a session. Then enter your abstract in the area marked for the abstract.
  •  All accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book.
  • Notification of acceptance will be mailed by June 1, 2010.

 

 



The AMU student hostel Jowita

  • is located in the city centre with a short walking distance to the railway station and market square and has a direct tram connection with Collegium Biologicum.
  • The hostel itself is 10 floor and there are 90 rooms available for participants of the EAA conference.
  • Each room has two beds for one or two persons but shares a shower and toilet with a neighbour.

The price is 15 euro per one bed/per night and includes breakfast.

How to book and pay?

  • The booking will be possible via Congress Secretariat czerniak@awf.poznan.pl
  • Booking is guaranteed if payment is settled by the 30th June, 2010.
  • The accommodation payment should be made to the account of the conference (see below) with a note JOWITA and payer’s name.
  • After receiving the payment an invoice will be prepared and sent to the address indicated in the Registration Form.

Lack of the full payment by June 30th, 2010 will be regarded as a cancellation of the reservation.
